Abstract
Keyword: Reading comprehension. Advance organizer strategy.
Reading comprehension is an action that requires the reader’s knowledge
and experience to be related to the contents of the reading material to understand
it. Therefore. students must master the ability to read an interpret English texts as
one of the competency goals that must to met. However. the study comprehension
under these circumstances.
In this study. the researcher used quantitative research. Then. in more
detail. the researcher classifies this study as a pre-experimental research design.
Which pre-experimental research only requires one class pre-test and post-test.
This study took place were SMKN Widang. The participants in this study were
SMKN Widang for the academic year 2023/2024. Twenty-grade kids participated
in the study. Reading test data was obtained.
The results of the study showed that there were significant differences in
students' Reading comprehension between the pre-test and post-test. The average
score of students’ on the pre-test and post-test demonstrates this. On the pre-test.
the mean score climbed from 45.50 on the post-test to 91.25. By comparing t-test
26.143 and t-table 2.093. which t-test is higher than t-table (26.143 >2.093).
Because the t-test is higher than the t-table. therefore Ho is rejected and Ha is
accepted. From this. it can be concluded that there is an effect on the Reading
comprehension of X-grade students at SMKN Widang after using the advance
organizer strategy.
