Abstract

Key word: CAKE application, Vocabulary knowledge

The objective of the research is to know the effect of Cake application on the vocabulary knowledge of VIII th grade students at MTs Ihyaul Ulum Sekaran Lamongan in academic 2023/2024. This is based on the results obtained from the vocabulary knowledge tests conducted by students. This year the number of class VII th at MTS Ihyaul Ulum is 5, namely VII th A, B, C, D, E, and here the researcher focuses on one class, namely class VII th A, totaling 20 students. The research instrument was test, the data analysis uses t-test.

In this study, the researcher used quantitative research.
Then, in more detail, the researcher classifies this study as a pre-experimental research design. Which pre-experimental research only requires one class pre-test and post-test. and from the results of the pre-test and post-test, the researcher concluded the difference. The researcher took the pre-test from the official Cambridge test and the researcher took the post-test from the test that was provided in the cake application

The results of the study showed that there were significant differences in students' test between the pre-test and post-test. By comparing t-test 8.850 and t- table 1.729, which t-test is higher than t-table (8.850>1.729). Because the t-test is higher than the t-table, therefore Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. From this, it can be concluded that there is an effect on the vocabulary knowledge of VIII th grade students at MTs Ihyaul Ulum Sekaran Lamongan after using the Cake application.
