Abstract
Keywords: Developing Multimedia Based Learning, Supplementary, Writing Material.
The aims of this study is to create extra writing resources for MTs Fathul Hidayah Pangean Lamongan's eighth grade students. The purpose of this book is to support educators and learners of English in their teaching and learning endeavors. This study focuses on the provision of writing materials for the English language teaching and learning process, particularly with regard to writing skills, through multimedia-based language instruction.
In this research, the researcher used Educational Research and Development by Mohammad Adnan Latief. The procedures are: (1) Identifying problem, the questionnaire was given to students to identify their problem. The researcher also did interview to subject specialist. (2) Reviewing literature, the researcher reviewed the literature about developing instructional media to be more relevant to use in instruction. (3) Drafting document, the researcher drafted the document according to the information of questionnaire. (4) Reviewing/Organizing material, the researcher reviewed the product to check the design and content of the English course material before validating to experts. (5) Expert validation, the product was validated by two experts in order to get best quality of material. (6) Try out, through the revision; the product was tried out to the students. (7) Publishing. which is more English writing material. An analysis of needs was conducted.
The results of the needs analysis show that teaching materials for students need writing that is more fascinating, varied, and grounded in the environment. The result of this study is a four-chapter book named "Developing Supplementary Materials in English Using Multimedia-Based Learning Book," which offers more English language content. Each chapter includes This unit includes several explanations and exercises that help students' comprehension of the lesson through multimedia-based language instruction. Finally, it can be concluded that the product of this research has been appropiate for the eighth grade of MTs Fathul Hidayah Pangean-Lamongan.
