Abstract
Keywords: Curriculum, Moderate Islam, syekh nawawi al bantani
Education is the foundation of a strong nation. The curriculum determines the success
of learning and prepares students for the future. Educational planning should be based
on piety towards Allah. The integration of moderate values into the education
curriculum supports tolerance and unity, especially in pluralistic societies like
Indonesia. Sheikh Nawawi Al-Bantani's thoughts on religious moderation are relevant
in the context of moderate Islamic education curriculum. The formulation of the
problem is as follows: 1. What is the Concept of Moderate Islamic Education
Curriculum from the Perspective of Sheikh Nawawi Al-Bantani? 2. How Relevant is
the Moderate Islamic Education Curriculum from the Perspective of Sheikh Nawawi
Al-Bantani to Modern Islamic Education?
This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a library research
method, relying on primary and secondary sources. The data analysis techniques used
are content analysis and historical analysis.
Based on the research findings, the concept of a moderate Islamic education curriculum
from Syekh Nawawi Al-Bantani's perspective emphasizes universal Islamic values
such as tolerance, mutual respect, justice, and an open understanding of differences.
This concept is relevant to modern Islamic education, aiming to create knowledgeable,
creative, independent individuals who are devoted to Allah. This concept significantly
contributes to advancing modern Islamic education, making the curriculum an effective
instrument for building a harmonious and civilized society.
